RigUp Debuts “Creating Opportunity” Car at NASCAR’s Kentucky Speedway
NASCAR driver Austin Dillon hit the Kentucky Speedway in the RigUp Chevrolet on Sunday, finishing 13th in a dramatic race that saw four cautions in the final 37 laps.
The special No. 3 RigUp car is part of an ongoing partnership between RigUp, Dillon, and Richard Childress Racing.
In Sunday’s race, the RigUp car sported a special message: “Creating Opportunity”. The message highlights RigUp’s commitment to upskilling and training programs, which offer skilled workers additional pathways to earn the certifications they need to secure in-demand jobs, often at higher pay.
As part of this commitment, RigUp has also launched an initiative dedicated to helping bridge the income and unemployment gap faced by Black Americans. Last month, the company announced an initial investment of $200,000 into workforce training programs that will specifically help people in underserved communities get placed in better jobs with better pay, with the hopes of ultimately creating better lives for these workers and their communities. Already, this program is having a real impact on workers, with the first training class already seeing a 42% increase in their hourly wages - a huge improvement in a small amount of time.
Following Sunday’s finish, Dillon autographed the piece of the car carrying this special message, making it available for purchase through the NASCAR Foundation’s online auction. The auction runs through Sunday, July 19. All proceeds benefit the NASCAR foundation.
Fans can expect to see the RigUp car back in action during select races in the 2021 season.
